Holy Cross Vocational Training Institute Alambagh, Lucknow, established in 1987 belongs to the Congregation of the sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross, founded in Ingen bohl , Switzerland in the year 1856 by Fr.Theodosius Florentini OFM Cap. and Mother Maria Theresa Scherer. The motto of our congregation, “Need of the time is the will of GOD".
Fr. Theodosius and Mother Maria Theresa Scherer in their unbounded faith and trust in the Divine Providence obtained farsightedness, innovation and creative approach to Education.
The Congregation of The Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross in India, through their Educational Institutions, serve children and youth, with special preference for the marginalized. The Congregation renders service through Kindergartens, primary schools, High Schools, Junior Colleges, Professional Colleges, Vocational Institutions, Teacher –Training Institutions, Nursing Schools and colleges, Various types of Non-formal Institutions and many more. Other forms of Educational Institutions are set up as and when the need arises
Diverse approaches to education led to activity based teaching and skill training holistic and integrated personality with love for nature and responsibility for its preservation. Students become good persons equipped with sound spiritual and moral values. Preferential love and attention for the poor and underprivileged such as girls, tribal, dalits is ensured to all sections of the society.
Holy Cross Vocational Training Institute is run by Holy Cross Sisters of North East Province in Collaboration with other efficient staff from the locality . Holy Cross sisters society is a registered society.
Holy Cross Vocational Training Institute stands different in the city of Lucknow. Our aim is to help young people to develop into Women and Men, who will be intellectually competent, practically skilled, morally sound, psychologically whole and self -reliant so that they are confident and well equipped to take up jobs and can live in dignity & peace.
